Decades of Dishes: Beef Stroganoff Oct 6, 3pm MT

DECADES OF DISHES- Today we are going to pay homage to the classic Beef Stroganoff, but with a few updated modern Cook with Meg twists!

DECADES OF DISHES- Ultimate Beef Stroganoff- October 6, 3pm MST (Alberta)

We are cooking our way through the decades, putting our own COOK WITH MEG twist on some of the classics!

WHEN WAS BEEF STROGANOFF INVENTED? In 1891, the French chef Charles Brière, who was working in Saint Petersburg, submitted a recipe for beef Stroganoff to a competition sponsored by the French magazine L'Art culinaire. This led Larousse Gastronomique to assume that he was the inventor of this dish, but both the recipe and the name existed before then.

Now while the dish was invented sometime in the early 1800s and had its American heyday in the 1950s and 1960s. Today we are going to pay homage to the classic but with a few updated modern twists!
